This Day in June
Each year we gather, and celebrate the day
Sit back and listen to these words that I say
As time passed by, while I grew into me
Would never of made it, in visions we see
Guided by the man, who taught lessons firm
Best friend, my Father, today is your turn
Thinking back as a child, joy and the time
Taught me to crawl, who taught me to climb
Rock in my corner if the darkness took hold
Comfort, kindness when shadows were cold
Standing beside me, embracing in the light
Happiness, his pleasure, one hell a sight
Join me in celebration, my dearest old friend
Love will over power, from now til the end
Raise up your glasses, join me in the toast
Fathers ask for nothing, so today give them most
